# Chad Rubin

## Who

Chad Rubin is a Miami-based company builder. He spent twenty years in ecommerce
and is now looking outside it for his next problem. He started in his
parents' vacuum shop in 2006 and took the business online as Crucial Vacuum in
2009 after the financial crash ended his equity-research career. That became
Think Crucial, an 8-figure private-label brand selling home appliance parts
and chemicals direct through Amazon. He still owns it and is not involved day
to day.

Each company he founded began as an operating problem in his own business:

- **Skubana** — running 60,000 orders a month broke the available tools, so he
  co-founded an operations/ERP platform. Acquired by Extensiv (3PL Central), 2021.
- **Prosper Show** — Amazon sellers had nowhere to compare notes, so he
  co-founded the conference. Acquired by Emerald Expositions, 2017.
- **Seller's Choice** — ecommerce marketing agency. Acquired by Jerrick Media
  Holdings, 2019.
- **Profasee** — AI pricing agents for Amazon brands. Acquired by Titan, 2026.

Titan acquired Profasee in August 2026. He still owns Think Crucial but has said
he will not build another company in ecommerce.

He wrote *Cheaper Easier Direct* (2016, ISBN 9780692713327) and founded the
Deep & Saasy community (2019).

## Credo

Rules he lives by, written for his family first; his companies were
reflections of them. He can do hard things, and they're the only things worth
doing. There is no good technology without humanity. Work without play doesn't
work. Enlightenment over entitlement. You can't go anywhere if you stay in
your comfort zone. Entrepreneurship doesn't have to be a solo adventure. Being
for everyone isn't for him; he'd rather excite the few than bore the many. If
he starts something, he finishes it. The companies sold; the values stay.
